Conference on Internet Research in Berlin, November 2013

The Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society in Berlin invites proposals for their annual colloquium to be held in Berlin on 21 November 2013. The colloquium is geared towards early stage researchers, especially Ph.D. candidates and post-docs from all disciplines. Join the discussion around Internet research and present your paper or research project. The colloquium will include the following thematic sections:

  • Slacktivism, activism and protest online. Does the internet have what it takes to be political?
  • From net neutrality to governance: Where are the points of entry to understanding present-day problems with Internet infrastructure?
  • Censorship and chilling effects: How does the law determine online behavior?
  • Open Science – How does the Internet change knowledge creation and dissemination?
  • Internet-enabled innovation – How does the Internet enable new forms of corporate goods, communication and interaction between consumers, stakeholders and companies?
  • Entrepreneurship – What are the hindering and promoting factors of Internet-enabled entrepreneurship

The call for papers is open till 26 June 2013. You need to register and submit your material, including a short 2-page CV. More information is found at the conference website.
